Federal Highway Administration
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation
and is headquartered in Washington, D.C., with field offices across the United States.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration was established within the Department
of Transportation on January 1, 2000, pursuant to the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement
Act of 1999 [Public Law No. 106-159, 113 Stat. 1748 (December 9, 1999)]. Formerly
a part of the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's
primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.
Administration activities contribute to ensuring safety in motor carrier operations
through strong enforcement of safety regulations, targeting high-risk carriers and
commercial motor vehicle drivers; improving safety information systems and commercial
motor vehicle technologies; strengthening commercial motor vehicle equipment and
operating standards; and increasing safety awareness.
National Highway Traffic Safety
The mission of the NHTSA is to reduce deaths, injuries & economic losses resulting
from motor vehicle crashes by setting & enforcing safety standards for motor vehicles.
Grants are awarded to states to help them organize, develop & implement highway safety
programs.
National Safety Council
Our mission is "to educate and influence society to adopt safety, health and environmental
policies, practices and procedures that prevent and mitigate human suffering and economic
losses arising from preventable causes."

statistics.
Office of Insurance Commissioner - State of Wisconsin
The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance regulates the business of insurance in
Wisconsin. The office has a staff of 124 and is responsible for examining industry financial
practices and market conduct, licensing agents, reviewing policy forms for compliance
with state legislation, investigating consumer complaints and providing consumer information.
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the Federal agency
responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of
work-related disease and injury. The Institute is part of the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC).

Department of Transportation - Employer Notification
The Employer Notification Program provides employers with current information regarding
the driving record of their employees who operate commercial motor vehicles.
A copy of the employee's driver record abstract is mailed to the employer whenever an accident conviction, suspension, revocation, cancellation, disqualification, or out of service order is recorded.

Board of Safety Professionals
The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) was organized as a peer certification
board with the purpose of certifying practitioners in the safety profession. The specific
functions of the Board, as outlined in its Charter, are to evaluate the academic and
professional experience qualifications of safety professionals, to administer examinations,
and to issue certificates of qualification to those professionals who meet the Board's
criteria and successfully pass its examinations. BCSP holds national accreditation
National Cargo Security Council
The National Cargo Security Council is a professional association of cargo transportation
and security professionals from the entire spectrum of cargo security: air, truck/rail,
maritime, and intermodal. Its success hinges on each member's personal concern for
the safe and secure movement of the nation's commerce.
